  • There will be a Gardening Club meeting on Wednesday, 6/9 in room 310 until 3:00 p.m.
  • The Lady Northmen Softball team plays Feinstein Middle School today in the State Championship game at Rhode Island College at 4:00 p.m. Come out to support the team. Go Lady Northmen!!!
  • The 8th Grade Step-Up Dance is tonight in the Middle School cafeteria from 6:30-9:00 p.m. There will be a photographer available for a fee. The photo package envelopes have been sent home with students. Admission is free – each student must have the signed permission slip as their ticket to the dance. Students who do not have a signed permission slip will not be allowed into the dance. This dance is for 8th graders only. 
  • Registration for North Smithfield Xpress Football and Cheerleading will be held at Scouter’s Hall at Pacheco Park on Saturday, 6/5 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and Saturday, 7/10 from noon-3:00 p.m. New participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration.
  • Rhode Island Department of Ed has scheduled your student to take the new online survey, Survey Works! the week of 6/7. A letter was sent home containing information about the survey and your rights to opt out your student from participating. Return the form only if you DO NOT want your student to participate. If you would like to review the survey, a copy is available in the front office.

  • Congratulations to the middle school Girls Softball Team on their 5-4 win over Scituate yesterday. This win places the team in the State Championship game tomorrow at Rhode Island College. Go Lady Northmen!
  • The school will be sponsoring a Fan Bus for any student interested in attending the Girls Softball State Championship game at RIC on Friday afternoon. Anyone wishing to attend the game must bring in a signed permission slip on Friday morning. Space is limited, so get the permission slips in on time.
  • There is a mandatory National Junior Honor Society induction ceremony rehearsal today from 2:15-3:15 p.m. in the cafeteria. See Miss Brooks with any questions.

  • The Middle School Book Fair is being held this week from Monday, 5/24 through Friday, 5/28. The Book Fair will be open Monday through Thursday until 3:00 p.m. and Friday until 2:05 p.m.

  • Congratulations to our teachers for participating and winning the Ragnar Relay Race. Mr. Williamson, Mrs. Lima, Mrs. Williamson, Mr. LaBossiere, and Mr. Tek ran a total of 200 miles. It took 28 hours, 2 minutes, and 35 seconds winning 1st Place in mixed division. Our teachers rock!!!

  • There is a SADD meeting today in room 203. SADD members should make every effort to attend.
  • There will be a Gardening Club meeting until 3:00 p.m. in room 310 on Wednesday, 5/19. Anyone can still join!
  • All 8th graders need to bring a scientific calculator for the NECAP testing today and tomorrow. Calculators are not permitted on Wednesday.
  • The Walking Club will meet today at 2:15 p.m. in the foyer!
  • The Lady Northmen softball team defeated Mount St. Charles 3 to 0 on Thursday. The  Northmen gave Mount their first loss of the season. Congratulations ladies on a huge victory!
  • North Smithfield Rec Basketball summer signups will be held today and tomorrow from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in front of Scouter’s Hall at Pacheco Park.
